The 240-page catalogue of Ivo Lill’s work includes photographs of 200 of his works and has been published in conjunction with the retrospective exhibition “Classics. Ivo Lill” as part of the applied art classics series. The exhibition is open at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design until 26 September.

Lill is one of the most original and remarkable Estonian glass artists. He created most of his monumental works in cold work technique. He represented a generation, whose creative choices began to decisively lead applied art towards a new and unconventional path in the second half of the 1980s.

To expand on the particularities of Ivo Lill’s multifaceted work, the catalogue includes three articles and the memories of the gallerist Friederike Sauter about the artist. In addition to the works presented at the exhibition, the catalogue also features other important works belonging to the artist’s exceptionally extensive and versatile legacy, a total of nearly 200 works.

The catalogue also includes the artist’s CV and a list of the works exhibited at the exhibition.

The catalogue is compiled by Merike Alber and edited by Kai Lobjakas and Ketli Tiitsar. The museum would like to thank the co-curator of the exhibition Irene Lill for her generous help with the catalogue.

The majority of Ivo Lill’s work has been photographed by Ülo Josing and additionally, the sizable archive of the artist’s family and numerous other sources were also consulted.

On 18 and 19 June, the catalogue will be on sale at a special price at the museum. The catalogue will be available in the larger bookstores in Estonia within the next few days.
