English-language guided tour of the exhibition “Castle in the Air”
26 March at 4 PM

On 26 March at 4 PM, an English-language guided tour will take place at the exhibition “Castle in the Air”. The tour will be led by members of the õhuLoss collective. During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the artists, the behind-the-scenes aspects of the exhibition, and the contemporary jewelry on display.
“Castle in the Air” is an exhibition spanning several floors of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design (ETDM), bringing together an overview of more than twenty years of jewelry created by the Estonian jewelry artists’ collective õhuLoss. The collective consists of Piret Hirv, Kristiina Laurits, Eve Margus, Villu Plink, and Tanel Veenre, all of whom were students of the group’s founder, jewelry artist, head of the Jewelry and Blacksmithing Department at the Estonian Academy of Arts, and professor Kadri Mälk (1958–2023).
In a symbolic way, this iteration of the õhuLoss exhibition directs visitors’ attention to the present, serving as an introduction to the extensive retrospective exhibition of the late Kadri Mälk. It highlights how her former students have become artists, entrepreneurs, and educators who now contribute in the most diverse ways to the development of contemporary jewelry art.
The tour is accessible with an exhibition ticket. Free of charge with a Museum Card.
