Leather collection
The ETDM Leather-Work Collection consists mainly of unique works by leather artists. The collection includes more than 2,000 items. The collection also includes the products of leather workshops that operated in the 1930s, which are the oldest items in the Leather-Work Collection, as well as examples of products from the Art Products Factory and the Linda leather goods factory. The largest part of the collection is dedicated to bookbinding, followed by guestbooks, honorary addresses, photo albums, ledgers, notebooks, bookmarks, boxes and chests. The selection of handbags dates back to the pre-war and post-war periods. The work of Eduard Taska, the founder of Estonian leather art, and the unique leather sculptures of Elo Järve deserve special emphasis. Recent acquisitions for the collection have included alternative materials such as cardboard, metal, wood, plastic and other innovative bindings, often implementing old binding methods. In recent years, the collection has grown further with a selection of volumes that have won awards at international competition exhibitions.
