Oskar Kallis. Tapestry “Wonderbird from the epic “Kalevipoeg””. Sketch 1915, applied by Merike Lond 1997. Wool, woven.
Kallis’s tapestry is an example of the early 20th-century national romantic vibes. The entire textile collection of Estonian Art Museum was destroyed in 1944; thus, the given tapestry designed by Kallis is the realization of his draft from 1915 that was applied in 1997.
