Helle Gans. Clock-barometer. 1967. Metal, plastic.
This sci-fi device was part of exhibition series “Space and Form”, initiated in Estonia in the 1960s, which focused on the experiments in furniture and interior design. Thereby the designers, who were otherwise occupied with designing regular interiors, were given the chance to involve more imagination and be active in a less pragmatic realm. Yellow form with a metal trunk belongs among the top items designed in the “pop language” in Estonia.
